REAL ESTATE LEGAL SERVICES IN HALTON REGION

Property and construction-law support in Halton Region

Maki Law provides legal support for property transactions and construction matters in Burlington, Oakville, Milton, and Halton Hills. A waterfront condominium, an established Oakville house, a Milton builder purchase, or a rural Halton Hills property can involve different documents and risks. We help you understand the agreement and coordinate the legal steps relevant to your circumstances.

Burlington, Oakville, Milton, and Halton Hills

Our Halton inquiries include purchases, sales, refinances, condominium matters, and construction projects. Burlington and Oakville transactions may involve established neighbourhoods, lakefront property, and condominium ownership. Milton and Halton Hills can involve newer homes, larger lots, or rural settings, including Georgetown and Acton.

Tell us the exact property location, its current occupation, and your intended use. The information helps distinguish routine closing work from issues requiring additional documents, investigation, or specialist advice.

Condominium purchases and sales

For a condominium, clarify the legal description of the unit, parking, and locker, and obtain the complete status certificate package. Review the corporation’s financial information, insurance, rules, and any disclosed assessments or proceedings.

If shared facilities or maintenance responsibilities form part of the arrangement, ask how costs and obligations are allocated. Sellers should provide relevant corporation notices early. Our condo purchase guidance describes the review and closing process.

New homes and builder adjustments

A builder’s agreement can contain payment obligations and adjustments that are separate from the advertised purchase price. It may also address construction changes, completion notices, warranty documents, and restrictions on assignment.

Send the entire contract package for legal review and keep any later notices. We explain the obligations affecting your closing preparation and identify questions about financing, timing, and additional charges. See new construction home purchases.

Rural land, conservation, and planned development

If you are considering a larger parcel or rural property, ask about access, boundaries, servicing, and restrictions on building or changing the use. Municipal planning and conservation requirements may be important to an addition, outbuilding, severance, or redevelopment proposal.

The applicable restrictions depend on the property. A nearby project or existing structure does not establish what can be approved on your land. We help identify the legal documents to review and where planning, environmental, or technical input is appropriate.

Established homes, renovations, and commercial use

For an older or heritage property, discuss alterations, shared driveways, and any intended renovation before the agreement becomes firm. Title review, municipal records, and a physical inspection serve different purposes and may all be relevant.

A commercial purchase can also require review of leases, tenant deposits, permitted use, and financing. For construction work, provide the contract, changes, payment records, and any dispute notices so the issues can be assessed in context.

Preparing your Halton transaction for closing

Provide the complete agreement, amendments, closing date, and lender details. For a sale, identify existing mortgages and any occupancy requirements. Let us know if the transaction is connected to another purchase or sale so timing can be coordinated.

Our office will discuss the retainer, estimate, documents, and signing arrangements for your matter. Contact Maki Law to discuss a Halton purchase, sale, refinancing, or project.
